This Copyright & Personal-Use Licence explains how content published or sold by Exotic Morocco may and may not be used.
It applies to the Exotic Morocco website, digital guides, downloadable products, maps, visual collections, written content and related materials unless a product page or separate written agreement states otherwise.
This Licence operates alongside the Exotic Morocco Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Digital Product & Refund Policy. Nothing in this Licence restricts rights or exceptions that cannot legally be excluded.
1. About Exotic Morocco Content
Exotic Morocco is an independent visual, cultural and travel-information platform documenting Morocco through destinations, architecture, heritage, craftsmanship, culture, landscapes, local life and carefully designed digital resources.
Content may include:
- Premium Visual City Guides;
- cultural and heritage guides;
- destination pages;
- blog articles and editorial stories;
- maps and route frameworks;
- travel-planning resources;
- photographs and visual collections;
- illustrations and graphic elements;
- page layouts and guide structures;
- recipes and food collections;
- Darija learning resources;
- downloadable wallpapers;
- videos and social-media content;
- future publications, products and collections.
Protection applies only to material owned by Exotic Morocco or used under an appropriate licence or permission.
2. Copyright Ownership
Unless otherwise stated, the original text, editorial research, written expression, layouts, graphic designs, guide structures, maps, illustrations, visual arrangements, branding and other original materials created for Exotic Morocco are owned by Exotic Morocco or the relevant legal rights holder.
Some photographs, fonts, illustrations, maps, platform elements or other materials may be owned by third parties and used under licence, permission or another lawful basis.
Third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Nothing in this Licence claims exclusive ownership of:
- facts;
- historical events;
- public-domain material;
- common place names;
- general travel information;
- ideas that are not legally protected;
- third-party works or cultural heritage belonging to others.
However, the original selection, wording, design, interpretation, arrangement and presentation of such information may be protected to the extent permitted by law.
3. All Rights Reserved
All rights not expressly granted in this Licence are reserved.
Purchasing, downloading, viewing or accessing Exotic Morocco content does not transfer:
- copyright;
- trademark rights;
- design rights;
- database rights;
- ownership of the underlying work;
- commercial exploitation rights;
- publication rights;
- resale rights;
- adaptation or translation rights.
Payment gives the customer permission to use the purchased product only within the limits of the personal-use licence described below.
4. Personal-Use Licence
Unless a product page or separate written agreement states otherwise, the original purchaser receives a limited licence that is:
- personal;
- non-exclusive;
- non-transferable;
- non-sublicensable;
- for lawful private use only;
- valid worldwide;
- subject to these terms;
- capable of termination following a serious or repeated breach, subject to mandatory law.
The licence applies only to the person who originally purchased or lawfully received the product.
It does not permit use by a company, school, tour operator, travel agency, organisation, membership group or other institution unless separate written permission has been obtained.
5. What Personal Use Allows
The original purchaser may:
- download the purchased file;
- store it on their own devices;
- view it using compatible software;
- keep reasonable personal backup copies;
- use it privately for travel planning, learning or personal reference;
- print one reasonable personal copy where printing is permitted;
- use assistive technology to access the content;
- make strictly necessary personal-format adjustments for accessibility;
- refer to the guide while travelling;
- share an official Exotic Morocco product or website link.
Any personal copy must retain all copyright notices, credits, branding, watermarks and security information.
6. Printing Through a Professional Service
Where personal printing is permitted, the purchaser may provide the file to a reputable printing service solely to produce a personal copy.
The purchaser should ensure that the printing service:
- uses the file only for the requested print job;
- does not retain it longer than necessary;
- does not reproduce additional copies;
- does not use the content commercially;
- does not distribute or publish the file.
Permission to print a personal copy does not include permission for commercial printing, mass production, resale or public distribution.
7. Sharing Is Not Permitted
A personal-use licence does not permit sharing the complete product or substantial parts of it with other people.
You may not share the file with:
- family members;
- friends;
- colleagues;
- clients;
- students;
- tour participants;
- social-media followers;
- community members;
- messaging groups;
- online forums;
- membership groups;
- business partners.
Each person who wants their own copy should obtain it through the official Exotic Morocco shop.
8. Prohibited Distribution
Without prior written permission, you may not:
- email the file to another person;
- send it through WhatsApp, Messenger, Telegram or another messaging service;
- upload it to Google Drive, Dropbox or another shared storage service;
- place it in a shared company or school folder;
- publish it on a website;
- post it on social media;
- distribute it through an app or online community;
- upload it to a library or subscription platform;
- make it available through peer-to-peer or file-sharing networks;
- distribute printed copies;
- provide access through QR codes or shared download links;
- include it in a travel package, course or membership.
These restrictions apply whether distribution is free or paid.
9. Resale and Commercial Use
You may not resell, rent, license, sublicense or commercially exploit Exotic Morocco content.
Prohibited commercial use includes:
- reselling the original file;
- selling modified copies;
- using pages in a commercial publication;
- including content in a paid course;
- distributing content to paying clients;
- using maps or itineraries in a commercial tour;
- including guides in hotel, travel-agent or tour-operator packages;
- using the product as a client deliverable;
- selling printed reproductions;
- using content in advertisements or merchandise;
- creating a competing product from the material;
- using the design as a commercial template.
A separate written commercial licence is required for any business or professional use.
10. Educational and Institutional Use
A personal purchase does not automatically permit classroom, training, library or institutional distribution.
Without prior written permission, a product may not be:
- distributed to students;
- uploaded to a learning-management system;
- placed in a school or university library;
- reproduced in teaching materials;
- used as a class handout;
- displayed as complete course content;
- incorporated into paid training;
- shared with employees or members of an organisation.
Teachers and students may still exercise any limited quotation, research or educational rights that apply under mandatory law.
Schools, universities, libraries, cultural organisations and training providers should contact Exotic Morocco to discuss an appropriate institutional licence.
11. Copying and Reproduction
Without written permission, you may not reproduce the complete product or a substantial part of it in any form.
This includes reproduction through:
- screenshots;
- photocopying;
- scanning;
- screen recording;
- photographing pages;
- copying text;
- extracting images;
- tracing maps;
- recreating page designs;
- converting the publication into another format;
- reproducing visual arrangements;
- compiling extracts into another document.
Breaking a product into smaller parts does not avoid these restrictions when the combined use reproduces a substantial part of the original work.
12. Modification and Derivative Works
You may not modify, adapt or transform Exotic Morocco content for redistribution or commercial use.
Prohibited activities include:
- rewriting the text for publication;
- translating the product;
- recolouring or redesigning pages;
- removing or replacing branding;
- cropping photographs for commercial use;
- adapting maps or illustrations;
- creating simplified versions for resale;
- turning content into presentations, courses or videos;
- creating derivative guides;
- combining pages into another publication;
- representing altered material as an Exotic Morocco product.
Personal accessibility adjustments are permitted only where necessary for the purchaser’s own use and must not be distributed.
13. Translation Rights
Purchase does not include the right to translate a product or website article.
You may not publish, distribute, sell or commercially use a translation without prior written permission.
This restriction applies to full translations and to substantial translated extracts.
Exotic Morocco may later release authorised editions in English, Dutch, Arabic, French or other languages.
14. Maps, Routes and Visual Information
Maps, route frameworks, diagrams, labels and visual arrangements may include original research, selection, design and presentation.
They may not be:
- copied into another guide;
- traced or redrawn for publication;
- reproduced on a website;
- used by a tour operator;
- incorporated into an app;
- printed for distribution;
- sold as posters or downloads;
- used in commercial itineraries;
- stripped of branding or attribution.
Permission to use a guide for personal travel planning does not grant permission to republish or commercially exploit its maps or routes.
15. Photographs and Images
Photographs and images may be owned by Exotic Morocco, licensed from another creator or used with permission.
No photograph or image may be copied, downloaded, extracted, reproduced, edited, published, sold or used commercially unless the relevant rights holder has given permission.
The purchase of a digital guide does not grant a separate image licence.
A visible credit does not by itself create permission to reuse an image.
16. Reviews, Commentary and Limited Quotations
Nothing in this Licence is intended to prevent lawful criticism, review, reporting, research or quotation.
Where permitted by applicable law, a reviewer may use a limited quotation or a small number of necessary screenshots provided that:
- the use is genuinely for criticism, commentary or review;
- no more material is used than reasonably necessary;
- the source is clearly identified;
- Exotic Morocco is credited;
- the use does not replace the need to purchase the product;
- the complete product or substantial sections are not revealed;
- unpublished or restricted material is not disclosed;
- the use is not misleading.
For extensive quotations, multiple pages, promotional reproductions or commercial features, request written permission first.
17. Social-Media Sharing
You are encouraged to share:
- official Exotic Morocco website links;
- official product-page links;
- official social-media posts;
- promotional images specifically provided for sharing;
- short personal comments about your experience.
You may not share:
- complete guide pages;
- full-resolution product images;
- substantial screenshots;
- complete maps;
- downloadable files;
- download links;
- customer-only previews;
- watermarked or stamped pages;
- content presented as your own work.
Tagging or crediting Exotic Morocco does not replace the need for permission.
18. Artificial Intelligence, Data Mining and Automated Extraction
No permission is granted to use Exotic Morocco products or website content to:
- train artificial-intelligence systems;
- fine-tune machine-learning models;
- create datasets;
- perform systematic text or data extraction;
- generate competing guides or publications;
- build automated summaries for commercial distribution;
- scrape maps, text, photographs or product data;
- create synthetic or derivative commercial content;
- reproduce the style, structure or content through automated systems.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Exotic Morocco expressly reserves its rights regarding text and data mining and automated analysis.
This restriction does not prevent the use of ordinary assistive technologies by a lawful purchaser for personal accessibility.
19. Email Stamping, Watermarks and Security Measures
Products may contain:
- purchaser email addresses;
- order references;
- personalised stamps;
- watermarks;
- copyright notices;
- embedded identifiers;
- download controls;
- other security information.
These measures may be used to identify the licensed purchaser, discourage unauthorised distribution and protect the product.
You may not remove, hide, crop, alter or bypass a watermark, stamp, identifier or access-control measure.
The presence of a security measure does not reduce any mandatory rights the customer has concerning defective or non-conforming digital content.
20. Protecting Your Purchased File
Customers are responsible for taking reasonable care of purchased files and access information.
You should:
- store the file securely;
- protect your email account;
- avoid public or shared devices;
- avoid sharing download links;
- use secure passwords;
- keep personal backup copies;
- remove the file from a device before selling or transferring that device;
- inform Exotic Morocco if unauthorised access is suspected.
A customer may be responsible for distribution that occurs through their intentional sharing or failure to protect access information.
21. Third-Party Materials
Some products may contain or refer to third-party material.
Such material may be subject to separate conditions, credits or licences.
You may not assume that a personal-use licence issued by Exotic Morocco grants permission to reuse third-party content independently.
Where a third-party credit or licence is displayed, that information must be retained.
Requests concerning third-party material may need to be directed to the relevant rights holder.
22. Exotic Morocco Branding
The names, logos, marks, visual identities and branding associated with Exotic Morocco may not be used in a way that:
- suggests an official partnership;
- suggests endorsement;
- creates customer confusion;
- impersonates Exotic Morocco;
- promotes another product or business;
- appears on unauthorised merchandise;
- is incorporated into another brand;
- registers a confusingly similar domain, page or account.
No trademark or branding licence is granted through website access or product purchase.
23. Permissions and Separate Licences
Written permission may be requested for uses such as:
- educational distribution;
- classroom licences;
- institutional libraries;
- media publication;
- commercial travel services;
- tourism partnerships;
- exhibitions;
- translations;
- image licensing;
- map reproduction;
- inclusion in books or magazines;
- business or group access.
A request should describe:
- the material requested;
- the intended use;
- the organisation or person using it;
- whether the use is commercial;
- expected audience size;
- distribution method;
- language;
- territory;
- duration.
Permission is valid only when confirmed in writing by Exotic Morocco or the relevant rights holder.
Silence or failure to respond does not constitute permission.
24. Attribution
Where permission or applicable law allows use, attribution should normally state:
Source: Exotic Morocco — exotic-morocco.com
Additional author, photographer or rights-holder credits may also be required.
Attribution does not:
- replace the need for permission;
- legalise unauthorised use;
- transfer ownership;
- grant commercial rights;
- allow removal of watermarks.
25. Reporting Suspected Infringement
Anyone who believes that Exotic Morocco content has been copied, distributed, sold or used without permission may report the matter through the Contact page.
Please include:
- the location of the suspected infringement;
- the relevant URL;
- screenshots where possible;
- the Exotic Morocco work involved;
- the date the use was observed;
- any relevant account or seller information.
Do not attempt to access private systems or obtain evidence unlawfully.
26. Claims Concerning Third-Party Rights
Exotic Morocco aims to respect the rights of photographers, writers, designers, cultural institutions and other creators.
A person who believes that material on Exotic Morocco infringes their copyright or another legal right should use the Contact page and provide:
- their name and contact details;
- identification of the protected work;
- identification of the disputed material;
- the location of the material;
- an explanation of the claimed rights;
- evidence of ownership or authority where appropriate;
- the requested action.
Reports will be reviewed in good faith. Material may be temporarily restricted while a credible claim is investigated.
False, misleading or abusive reports are not permitted.
27. Breach of This Licence
A material or repeated breach may result in proportionate action, including:
- withdrawal of download access;
- termination of the personal-use licence;
- removal from a membership or customer area;
- reporting infringing content to a platform or hosting provider;
- submission of relevant evidence to a payment provider;
- a request to remove or destroy unauthorised copies;
- legal enforcement where appropriate.
Before taking action, Exotic Morocco may consider:
- the seriousness of the breach;
- whether the breach was intentional;
- the scale of distribution;
- whether the customer cooperated;
- whether the infringement can be corrected;
- applicable consumer and copyright law.
Termination does not remove liabilities or rights that arose before termination.
28. Effect of Licence Termination
When a licence is lawfully terminated for material breach, the user must:
- stop using the affected product;
- remove unauthorised public copies;
- stop distributing the product;
- delete copies held by unauthorised recipients where reasonably possible;
- stop commercial exploitation;
- comply with reasonable infringement-removal requests.
Termination does not affect mandatory consumer rights unrelated to the infringement.
29. Enforcement and Remedies
Exotic Morocco or another rights holder may seek remedies available under applicable law where protected material is used without authorisation.
Possible remedies may include:
- removal of infringing material;
- suspension of an account;
- cessation of distribution;
- preservation of evidence;
- compensation where legally justified;
- recovery of reasonable enforcement costs where awarded or permitted;
- other remedies available through courts or platforms.
Nothing in this section predetermines the outcome of any individual dispute.
30. Mandatory Legal Exceptions
Nothing in this Licence is intended to exclude a use that is expressly permitted by mandatory copyright law.
Depending on the jurisdiction and circumstances, legal exceptions may apply to matters such as:
- quotation;
- criticism;
- review;
- parody;
- private copying;
- education;
- research;
- accessibility;
- news reporting.
Such exceptions have specific legal conditions and do not create a general right to copy, distribute or commercially exploit Exotic Morocco content.
Users are responsible for ensuring that any claimed exception genuinely applies.
31. Relationship with Other Policies
This Licence should be read together with:
- the Terms & Conditions;
- the Privacy Policy;
- the Digital Product & Refund Policy;
- product-specific descriptions;
- any separate commercial or institutional licence.
Where a valid separate written licence grants additional rights, that licence applies to the extent of the stated permission.
Where different documents appear to conflict, mandatory law takes priority.
32. Changes to This Licence
This Licence may be updated to reflect:
- legal developments;
- new products;
- new formats;
- security measures;
- licensing arrangements;
- new educational or institutional services;
- changes to the website or business model.
The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
Changes normally apply to future access and purchases. Rights already expressly granted under a separate written agreement remain subject to that agreement.
33. Contact and Permission Requests
For copyright questions, permission requests, licensing proposals or infringement reports, use the Exotic Morocco Contact page.
Include enough information to identify:
- the material concerned;
- the intended or disputed use;
- your identity or organisation;
- relevant URLs;
- whether the request is personal, educational or commercial.
Do not send passwords, complete payment-card information or unnecessary sensitive personal data.
